Czech equities, as measured by the PX Index, were up by 1.8% for the week ending February 29th to close at 1,566.0. The overall volume of trading on the PSE reached USD 842.9m, 32.2% below its 12M weekly average of USD 1,242.5m.
The best performance of the past week was given by Komercni Banka, which gained 5.1% on the back of the takeover story. CEZ reported its 4Q07 numbers which came in in-line with estimates and the company reiterated its 2008 outlook. gained 2.3% after it posted strong 4Q07 numbers and gave a bullish outlook. strengthened by almost 2%. The 4Q07 results announced by the company were slightly better than expected and also confirmed its projections for 2008 and 2009. ended the week down by 1.6%. The quarterly results released by the company disappointed investors when they fell below consensus estimates.
