The tender for an advisor in the CT privatization may be cancelled by the Cabinet, the Czech Press Agency reported yesterday, citing two unnamed independent sources. There is reportedly the political will to cancel it. Recall that CSFB/Ceska sporitelna (CS) has been selected by the National Property Fund as advisor and the contract should be signed tomorrow. CS said it had no information about the alleged cancellation and the NPF declined to comment. Source: CTK.
Note that the possible advisory tender cancellation would likely delay the entire privatization process as the detailed privatization strategy is scheduled to be submitted by the advisor in June and the privatization itself is planned to start in H2 2004.
