The PX-50 index gained 0.4% to rise above 500 points yesterday. Local buying in Unipetrol and demand for Erste Bank were mainly behind the increase. CEZ and Cesky Telecom saw some investors take profits after recent sharp rallies. Yesterday was the last day to trade with dividend rights in Philip Morris CR stock, and the stock closed down 0.5%. Overall, volume in the SPAD system was average at USD 14.3 mil. Today, we expect Philip Morris CR to open lower, and we might see continued profit taking in other titles as investors cash in on the gains rung up in the past few weeks.
