Monetary Council of the Central Bank of Hungary has left base rates on hold at 8.0%, unchanged since last October. Accor
ding to analysts, the council’s comments were little bit more on the hawkish side than expected: Central Bank governor Mr Andras Simor referred to somewhat ambiguous March inflation, when compared to in-line January and February CPI
data. The National Bank will publish is its inflation report in May, which will provide new inputs to analysts.
