Lotos (45 PLN, 1,13%) has not ruled out an entry into a retail segment outside Poland, the company's vice-president Jaroslaw Krynski told reporters during the Economic Forum in Krynica on Wednesday. The company is mostly interested in Baltic Sea region. Our view: Due to wide-scaled refinery investment program the company is pretty stretched in its sources and should count each Zloty. That is why Lotos postponed the investments in upstream segment, which could be quite profitable under current crude oil price environment. Until now the return on Lotos’ retail business was well below the average therefore we see no rash in new investments. Overall we see the decision to expand in retail now as not the best idea and believe that market will support our view.
