The Czech koruna firmed slightly against the dollar from the initial level
of 29.730 to 29.580 in the beginning of Friday's morning session. However,
the koruna slipped vs. the dollar later in reaction to the dollar's
strengthening against the euro on the world markets. The USD/CUK closed at
29.800. The EUR/CZK was curbed in the range of 32.320 - 32.430 all day long.
The koruna ignored higher-than-expected trade deficit and closed modestly
firmer at 32.420.
No important data are released today. The EUR/CZK should
not leave the range of 32.200 - 32.400, while it opened at 32.350. Vis-a-vis
the dollar, the koruna started at 29.740 and should remain between 29.500 -
29.900 brackets.
