The PX-50 index closed up marginally higher at 479.80 points yesterday, for a gain of 0.13%. Komercni banka rose by 0.40% to CZK 2,120; most of the stock’s gains came toward the very end of the session as US markets opened robustly following a holiday on Monday. There was virtually no trading activity yesterday in Cesky Telecom, and volume was thin in CEZ as well. Unipetrol stock seems to have stabilized at CZK 40 despite rumors on the market that this price level could trigger large sell orders from Czech municipalities; we were net buyers of the stock last week, and we note that the stock’s volume is improving. For today, we are set for a stronger opening in Prague; Komercni banka is likely to trade higher, with the rest of the market expected to be mixed, led on the whole by European bourses and US futures. Volume in the SPAD trading system reached USD 8.52 mil. yesterday, below average.
