• According to Czech National Bank board member Vladimir Tomsik there is no relation between mortgage markets in western countries and the interest rates scenario in the Czech Republic. Tomsik repeated that current forecast is in line with interest rates hike.
• Global economy growth will be harmed by shakes on markets if central banks are not going to release monetary policy, according to Nobel Prize for economy winner, Edmund Phelps. This can mean higher inflation but central banks can not do anything else.
• Net inflation in Poland in July reached 1.5% which is slightly below expectations. Current inflation in the same month reached 2.3%.
• Retail sales in Hungary in June decreased by 3.6% y/y after 2.8% decline in May.
• Petr Koblic, head of Prague Stock Exchange, expects that five companies are going to enter market until the end of this year. Mainly real estate companies are interested.
