In August, international trade reached a deficit of CZK 0,6 billion, following a deficit of CZK 0,7 billion in July. According to expectations, the dynamics on both sides of the balance slowed down. Export increased by 12.2 per cent y/y; import increased by 11,7 per cent. The trade balance achieved a result very similar to last year’s August. Even the structure is very similar. The balance is burdened by high oil, natural gas and chemical imports; the most distinctive positive feature is the export of machinery and transport vehicles.
