The lower house of Parliament gave its approval on Fri. to a draft law on supported sources of energy that will eliminate subsidies for all new renewable-energy sources as of next year, except for small hydroelectric plants. The bill puts a cap of CZK 495/MWh on the amount users will pay toward renewable energy, down from 583 CZK this year. This will raise the amount the state pays toward renewable-energy sources to 15.6 bln. CZK next year, up from 11.7-12.5 bln. CZK. / CEZ receives of about 1.5 bln. CZK (before 26% tax) subsidies for renewables per year.
