The koruna tested twice the 28,50 level, but failed to make a sustained break. Closing rate is 28,53 CZK/EUR. The Czech currency was supported by the dollar weakening - this was common for all the currencies in the region. Afternoon, the zloty and the forint reversed and followed the icelandic crown. ISK weakened beyond 97 ISK/EUR to it´s 4-year low. But, CZK and SKK held the ground.
The koruna gaind also against the dollar and closed stronger at 23,13 CZK/USD thanks to the USD/EUR moves. The dollar consolidated on weaker levels after the Iran issue and the Fed´s comments indicating the end of it´s tightening cycle. Today´s CPI came at weaker levels than expected, which brought some gains to the dollar. However, the negative bias seems to continue.
