In an interview for the local MFDnes daily, PKN Orlen deputy CEO J. Wisniewski commented on the planned splitting of Unipetrol. PKN intends to keep Ceska rafinerska (the largest domestic refinery), the fuel retailer Benzina, and also Spolana, a PVC producer. Agrofert should reportedly acquire Aliachem (one of the smaller companies in the holding, which groups together several producers of plastics, organics, pigments, dyes, and nitrocelluloses, such as Lovochemie and Agrobohemie). Conoco will keep a share in Benzina and a strong position in Ceska rafinerska. Mr. Wisniewski did not comment on possible sales of other major subsidiaries: Kaucuk (a plastics producer), Paramo (a smaller refinery), and Chemopetrol (an ethylene, propylene, and polyethylene producer).
Note that both Mol and Shell said they might be interested in selected assets purchased by PKN.
