CT CFO J. Sedivy reiterated in an interview for the HN daily that without an increase in monthly fees (currently subject to ongoing discussions with the regulator) Cesky Telecom will be forced to write off part of its massive investment in fixed-line infrastructure made between 1996 and 1998. Should this happen, the company could reportedly even slip into a loss in 2003 (CT reports its 2003 results on February 26). While this is only an accounting exercise, the market would react negatively to a large negative P&L impact, we believe.
