The main corporate event scheduled for this week is the publication of Ceska sporitelna’s consolidated IAS preliminary results for full-year 2000 on Thursday. Prospective investors in CEZ’s privatization face a Tuesday deadline for expressions of preliminary interest. The Cabinet should decide on Wednesday whether to award a major contract to supply public offices with telecommunications services directly to Cesky Telecom or to hold a tender.
Czech macroeconomic figures due to be released next week include retail sales (January) on Monday, March 26, balance of payments (2000) on Tuesday March 27, and Q4 and full-year 2000 GDP and foreign trade (February) on Thursday, March 29.
