Several candidates delivered binding bids for the government’s 51% stake in Ceske radiokomunikace given yesterday’s tender deadline, according to the Czech MFDnes daily newspaper. Reportedly on the list are TeleDanmark, NTL, Central and East European Telecoms Venture, Telecom Italia and Emerging Markets Partnership, though this has seems to be unofficial information and need not be guaranteed. There is no information on the bids, therefore we do not expect much response from the stock today.
Moreover, the company said yesterday that its stake in the cellular operator RadioMobil will be diluted, from 51% to 39%, most likely by the end of March. The dilution is already built into expectations (and is a result of the parent company not winning the option last year to subscribe new shares in RadioMobil), only its timing had been uncertain. Again, this is unlikely to have an impact on the stock.
Third, the company is due to release its 2000 consolidated IAS results tomorrow (March 14) that include also the key RadioMobil and Contactel subsidiaries, and as such are fairly important.
