The Czech PX-50 index lost 2.27% on Friday as major international markets once again took a cautious approach to growth prospects in 2001. Cesky Telecom was the loser of the day, down 3.69%, closing at CZK 477.20. Other stocks moved largely sideways. Komercni was down 1.04% in response to various reports of the government’s readiness to issue guarantees; a Cabinet decision on guarantees is likely today. Total trading volume reached only USD 12.51 mil. on Friday. Today, the market will particularly focus on KB news from the Cabinet.
