The Czech PX-50 index lost 0.39% to 432.90 points on Thursday, following the weakness on western markets related to concerns about growth. Domestically, the utility CEZ went against the trend and added 1.56%, to CZK 110.40, as strong international demand led the share price higher. Cesky Telecom, on the other hand, was under selling pressure throughout the day from both international and domestic investors; it lost 2.01% to CZK 346.20. Other names were traded lightly with no particular interest. Total volume reached USD 10.21 mil. Today we may see further weakness in telecom stocks, and Komercni banka is likely to remain strong ahead of expected privatization news.
