Mobile operators Eurotel and RadioMobil will acquire licenses to run the UMTS mobile networks, said the regulatory Czech Telecoms Office. Eurotel offered CZK 3.535 bn for the license, while RadioMobil's bid reached CZK 3.861 bn. This means that RadioMobil, as the absolute winner, will obtain not only the UMTS frequencies, but also further GSM frequencies, which it can use to expand its standing network. The youngest Czech mobile operator, Cesky Mobil, did not submit a bid, as it refused to accept the starting price of CZK 3.5 bn saying that the payment would have an unfavorable impact on clients.
Czech Statistical Office will release CPI figures today at 9:00 AM. We expect a decline by -0.1%, month-on-months, which should deliver a year-on-year change of price level by 4.2%. Net inflation, targeted by the Czech national bank, could fell by -0.2, m-o-m, and increase by 2.4%, y-o-y. The Labor Ministry will release a rate of unemployment at the end of November. We expect a value of 8.4%.
The Czech government should confer on buying fighter jets Gripen. Expenditures on these jets would amount to CZK 50 bn and additional expenditures would be required to adjust military airport facilities.
