Unipetrol’s main subsidiaries will release their HI 2001 CAS results today (exactly when was not announced). We expect Ceska rafinerska, the biggest subsidiary, to perform significantly worse than last year in terms of profitability, with sales expected at CZK 22.4 bil. and net income at CZK 565 mil. (vs. sales of CZK 23.4 bil. and net income of CZK 1.177 bil. in H1 2000). Benzina’s projected sales amount to CZK 6.5 bil., with net income of CZK -75 mil. (vs. sales of CZK 7 bil. and net income of CZK 38 mil. in H1 2000). Chemopetrol’s projected sales are CZK 13.1 bil., with net income at CZK 857 mil. (vs. sales of CZK 12 bil. and net income of CZK 666 mil. in H1 2000). Kaucuk should perform better than last year; we expect sales of CZK 4.6 bil., and net income of CZK 342 mil. (vs. sales of CZK 4 bil. and net income of CZK 264 mil. in H1 2000). Lastly, we do not expect Paramo to break even, as projected sales amount to CZK 2.9 bil., and the projected net loss is CZK -112 mil.
