Today is the deadline for preliminary bids in the privatization of Ceske radiokomunikace. There may be some official or leaked information in the course of the week on how many bids were received and who the bidders are. The government reported some time ago that 10 parties were interested in the government’s 51% stake in the company. According to previously released information, the bidders should include TeleDanmark, Deutsche Telekom, Telecom Italia, Vivendi, Emerging Markets Partnership, and Hicks, Muse, and Tate & Furst (the latter two are financial investors).
