(The Fleet Sheet –MFD/15) Komerční banka’s new CEO, Jan Kollert, said he will have to have a talk with Arthur Andersen to determine why there was such a big change in its part evaluation of the bank.
It will be necessary to determine whether this was due to a lack of know-how or some other reason, he said. Discussion has been given to changing auditors, he added, but this would not be good in the run-up to privatization. He ruled out the idea that Arthur Andersen had reached an agreement in the past with Komerční’s management to keep certain things out of the audit. (Týden/14) Meanwhile, Týden says Kollert was about to lose his job at Hypo-Bank when he got the offer to run Komerční.
