The government proposed a nine-member Cesky Telecom privatization committee yesterday. It also approved a plan from the Ministry of Finance and added an additional two more people to the committee. Hence the privatization committee should be formed of 3 representatives from the Ministry of Finance, one representative from each of the Ministries of IT, Transportation and the Interior, two representatives of the National Property Fund (NPF) and one person from the Office of the Government. CSFB/CS, the state's privatization advisor, should recommend the optimal method of selling the state's 51% stake in Cesky Telecom to the privatization committee in October. The Ministry of Finance expects the Cabinet to decide on the sale method in the same month. Note that the Cabinet is currently considering selling the stake (i) to a tender winner or (ii) through the capital markets.
