Eurotel, Cesky Telecom's 100%-owned mobile arm, yesterday launched an unlimited high-speed Internet access service based on CDMA technology. The signal covers 70% of the domestic population. The flat monthly fee has been set at CZK 1,070 (EUR 34, incl. VAT).
While it is too early to separately project revenues from the new service, it may help to fill the current gap between the slower GPRS (or dial-up access) and faster ADSL (or cable access). To fill the gap, CT yesterday also introduced a slower (and cheaper) ADSL service with an estimated average speed of 256kb/s, i.e. comparable to CDMA, for CZK 619 (EUR 20) per month.
