The headline PX-50 index lost 1.5% of its value last week, closing Friday at 546.9 points (the blue-chip PX-D index closed at 1,349.7 points, down 1.7%). All blue chips saw prices fall; the major loser was Philip Morris CR, which lost 5.3% on the week and closed Friday at CZK 13,214. Ceske radiokomunikace was also down sharply as it lost 3.7% to CZK 255.4.
In other titles, Unipetrol lost 3.0% to CZK 58.1 after its main subsidiaries reported worse-than-expected H1 2003 results. Komercni banka dominated the market in terms of volume last week, USD 44.5 mil. worth of its shares changed hands, though its volume was 27% below its 12M weekly average of USD 61.1 mil. The stock lost 1.9% on no apparent news. Cesky Telecom closed the week at CZK 274.5, down 1.6%, and CEZ lost 1.5% of its value and closed Friday at CZK 114.3. Erste Bank fell by 1% to CZK 2,488.
The total traded volume was 21% above the 12M weekly average, at USD 170.9 mil.
This week, most major domestic blue-chip companies will report their H1 2003 results.
