The Czech currency continued falling against the euro, broke the level of
32.000 and reached 32.035 - its weakest level since February 2002. The
EUR/CZK closed at 32.020. The koruna was influenced mostly by hefty gains
posted by the euro on the world markets.
Negative sentiment prevailed also
on the other Central European forex markets. Vis-a-vis the dollar, the
koruna firmed and closed at the level of 29.360 in comparison to its initial
29.420 level.
State budget deficit figure due today should not have a
significant impact on the koruna. No important data will be released in the
rest of the week. The koruna is supposed to be influenced mostly by
eurodollar markets. The EUR/CZK should move in the range of 31.900 - 32.150
and the USD/CZK should remain between 29.000 - 29.500 today. The koruna
opened at 32.080 vs. the euro today and at 29.420 against the dollar.
