• Parliamentary elections in February would be won by Civic Democrats with 31% of votes. Social Democrats would receive 23% while 13% would vote for Communists. Green Party would receive 10% and Christian Democrats 8%.
• US industrial production in January decreased, compared with previous month, by 0.5% while in December last year production increased by 0.5%. In year-on-year comparison, industrial production is currently higher by 2.6%. Utilisation capacity rate decreased from 81.8% to 81.2%.
• Consumer prices index in Poland increased last month by 0.5%. Inflation increased to 1.7% y/y against 1.3% in December.
• Prices in Germany were decreasing. Consumer prices index decreased by 0.2% in January, while inflation increased to 1.6% from 1.4% in December.
• Inflow of foreign direct investments to the Czech Republic and other emerging economies will continue in the following years but at a slower pace, according to Standard & Poor’s agency.
• On the other hand, according to PricewaterhouseCoopers survey, cars production worth USD 6bn will move to Central and Eastern Europe in the next five years.
