Overall confidence indicator in the Czech Republic decreased by 0.4 points to 21.5. Decline of sectional indices in industry, construction and services sector is behind this decrease. On the other hand consumers’ confidence slightly increased again.
Malta will officially ask for admission to Economic and Monetary Union today. It fulfils all the criteria necessary and euro could be used as of 1 January 2008. Two weeks ago Cyprus sent request for EMU admission as well.
According to expectations Hungarian central bank left interest rates unchanged on its yesterday’s meeting. Its key repo rate remains at 8%.
Consumers’ confidence indicator in Germany measured for next month by GfK agency decreased by 4.4 pts from revised February result 4.9 and January’s 8.7.
